Kaituna River

This is the big one, the one that everyone comes to this wonderful part of New Zealand to experience. The rapids reach grade 5 and include Tutea Falls, a seven-metre drop that will take your breath away.

Kaituna River is suitable for first-timers who love adventure as well as more experienced white-water rafting enthusiasts. The memory of dropping down this waterfall will last a lifetime. If you are looking for the best things to do, places to visit, places to go, or places to see near Auckland, New Zealand, this is it!

There are 14 rapids in total with calm water between. The full Kaituna River experience takes about two hours and includes your training and about 50 minutes on the river. We’ll provide everything you need.

The rapids on the Rangitaiki River will meet your expectations. Those rapids range from grade 2 up to grade 4.

Wairoa River

Are you searching for what to do in Tauranga, Auckland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty, or even Wellington, hoping to find the best places to go, see, and visit in New Zealand, particularly on North Island in NZ? With its grade 5 rapids that are among the best in the country, as well as its waterfalls, technical rock gardens, and drops of up to three metres, the Wairoa River has what you are looking for.What’s not to love!

There is one downside – this river only flows when they open the dam.The dam is for a hydroelectric power station, so we only get 26 days a year to run the Wairoa River. Those days are on selected Sundays, usually from the end of September to the beginning of May. As a result, places are often limited, so make sure you book early to avoid disappointment.
